Valentine's Day Carillon Concert
Enjoy the (almost) spring weather and enjoy a Valentine's Day concert on the Leonidas Polk Carillon.
The USGC (University of the South Guild of Carillonneurs) will play a Valentine's Day concert at 6:00 PM on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14. Participants are Alex Ding, Theo Evans, Alyona Curikova, Raymond Gotko.
If this is your first carillon concert, here are some tips from the tower. Feel free to walk around. Try listening from different locations and see which spots you like the best. For performances at Shapard Tower, many people suggest that about 100–200 feet from the tower is a good distance. (Since the tower is about 100 feet tall, imagine it lying on its side on the ground!) Out of consideration for those who have come to enjoy the music, please refrain from talking during the music selections.
There are restrooms in the office wing of the chapel, on the ground floor of Walsh-Ellett Hall, in the basement of Carnegie Hall, and Guerry Hall. The performers welcome applause at the end of the concert.
